Scott Grimberg
President and CEO
Scott Grimberg has been managing global investment portfolios for the past twenty-five years, with a particular focus on Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Mr. Grimberg has extensive experience working and living in emerging markets and has helped a variety of investors and companies with their external investment plans. He has worked with investors, banks and companies in Mexico, Brazil, China and other high-growth emerging market countries to develop links and products for internal consumption and export.
In the course of his career, Mr. Grimberg has developed a network of contacts and associates who work together to help investors and companies access product, markets and production facilities outside of their home markets.
Prior to founding Bayonne Consulting international, Mr. Grimberg was a senior manager at Itau Asset Management (a division of Banco Itau BBA, Brazil’s largest private bank) and, prior to Itau, spent over eight years at the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS) as an Investment Manager for Global Fixed Income, as well as working with CalPERS’ private asset groups on international investments. Before CalPERS, Mr. Grimberg managed an international private lending company and held various investment roles focused on developing economies, especially in Latin America and Asia.
Mr. Grimberg speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese and is competent in Mandarin Chinese.
Alex Gao
COO & Co-Head of China
Alex Gao has five years of investment analyst experience in global investment portfolios. Before joining Bayonne Consulting International, he was an investment analyst at Itau USA Asset Management (a division of Banco Itau BBA, Brazil’s largest private bank). Prior to Itau, he worked at the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS, the largest pension fund in the U.S.) as an Investment Officer for the Global Fixed Income Team.
In addition to his experience in Emerging Markets debt and economic analysis, Mr. Gao maintains extensive contacts in Chinese industry and investment areas. He has a Master's in Finance and speaks fluent Mandarin.
